Say 'hello' to Chief Bean!
Jellybeans Music was created in 2007 by Elizabeth James after she was unable to find a music group to enjoy with her youngest son. An experienced Montessori teacher and classically trained musician, Elizabeth decided to create two programmes, baby beans for tiny newborns and non mobile babies and jellybeans. for boisterous, mobile babies, toddlers and preschoolers using as her inspiration the musical activities she enjoyed with her own children at home during their early years. Even today, her youngest son, Tobias, regularly 'test drives' new songs and music!
The business has grown quickly and now delivers sessions in Children's Centres throughout Lincolnshire and Rutland, with new sessions just beginning in Northamptonshire.

Why is it called Jellybeans Music?
Once upon a time, the boys were eating supper, when Charlie, the eldest shouted 'jumping jellybeans!'. Chief bean was a bit surprised as they were all eating pasta but quickly realised it would be the perfect name for her 'bright idea' and Jellybeans Music was born!

Who are the Jellybeans?
There are four cuddly jellybeans who take it in turns to jump out of the bag! They are called Tilly (pink), Bertie (green), Sam (yellow) and Poppy (orange) and are named after animals in Chief Bean's family! Tilly is named after her niece's black labrador, Sam is an Alaskan Malamut who lives with her sister, Bertie is Elizabeth's beloved cat and Poppy is a Corgi who lives with her parents. The arms, legs and fingers of the jellybeans were originally added to the graphic designer's (total genius)pictures by Elizabeth's second son, Sebastian, who,as a reward, is the proud owner of the only blue jellybean!

What does Jellybeans sound like?
The soundtrack to all the programmes very much reflects Chief bean's own personal musical tastes, which of course constantly change! It is an eclectic mix of songs, rhymes & music from all around the globe, the vast majority composed and produced just for Jellybeans Music. Some things never change though - we always start with a 'big band' style 'hello' song and we always sing 'goodbye' with a gentler version. Our music is bold, music to get feet tapping, music you want to sing along with, music for everyone, not just children, to share and enjoy.
